My experience during ILDC was enriching. I worked as a rapporteur during live session and was benefitted by Bonafide work Presented during the sessions. There were speakers from all across the globe and they presented land related matters pertaining to their local areas. this conference was an Excellent platform to bring the knowledge and experience of wide geographies under one platform and helps everyone learn from each other.

Working with the ILDC 2021 team and engaging with its many participants has been an exciting experience. Land tenure security lies at the heart of our basic rights. For anyone espousing the cause of the marginalized and the underprivileged, ILDC is a great learning platform.

Interns:

Moses Ngugi
College / University: Technical University of Kenya
Discipline / Course: BSc. Land Administration

This internship opportunity at Center for Land Governance NRMC has been a very enlightening, motivational and rewarding experience. I was able to connect with people from different parts of the world which helped in broadening my perspective on a host of things.
From an amazing track coordinator who helped me achieve set targets and assisted where I missed a step to great fellow participants of the Policyathon and a director who encouraged us along the way, this was truly a compassionate and positive learning environment for all involved. Through a multitude of different activities, I was able to; enhance my knowledge on land administration, understand the responsibility of projects to communities, how gender integration in technology can be key in improving women’s rights to land, the socio-cultural perspective on land, enhance my teamwork skills, thrive in a diverse and inclusive forum among many more.
I am confident that I will leave this internship better than I came in with the ability to view issues through a different and wider lens. I believe that the knowledge and skills earned through this internship will serve me well as I move forward in my career and hope that the inclusivity of this program grants another the same opportunity to learn, interact and grow. Thank you.

My internship has given me the opportunity to know so much about the land conflict issues in India and around the world and other critical issues related to it like town planning, security system, history of the conflicts and much more. The panel discussions among the esteemed panelists present during the conference gave me a better on ground understanding of it and I wish to work on whatever I have gained and be in touch with the very valuable connections I made during the tenure in future.

Again, I loved to collaborate with everyone involved on the team, Ashna Ma’am, Mrinalini ma’am. The freedom to create was an added advantage. I enjoyed promoting the event as much as I possibly could, because it was for a good cause. The round the clock response from Ashna Ma’am was really helpful to keep me engaged and in the loop of things. Learnt how to write concept notes from scratch – that was a new experience! Being a part of organizing this Artistic and Cultural expressions segment was illuminating. It was its first year and I’m really glad it turned out so well. It was my only intention from day one – to make ILDC bigger this year. I would love to come back next year for this segment with more ideas!

My internship experience was very good, full of new learnings and experiences. I had the pleasure of interacting with eminent people working for Women and their land rights. I am really thankful to my mentor Shipra Deo Ma’am for being extremely supportive and kind. I learnt a lot from her, and her way of looking at women’s situation in our country and across the world inspired me to work further in this direction. I am also grateful to Ms Ashna Abi and Ms Barsha for guiding me and constantly helping me solve my doubts. My overall experience of the internship at ILDC’21 has been a memorable one. I look forward to intern for the same in the upcoming ILDC events.
